The Village of Chatham at the October 25, 2016 Village Board meeting established an ad hoc committee to develop a transition plan for the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).  This committee shall be comprised of two village trustees and three citizens.  A staff member shall also be designated to serve as a facilitator for the Committee.  The Committee shall meet initially at the call of the designated Chairman and shall be subject to the Illinois Open Meetings Act.

On December 13, 2016 at the Committee of the Whole meeting Trustee Terry Fountain and Trustee Joe Schatteman were approved as the two trustees of the Committee.  Trustee Fountain was approved as Chairman.

Mayor Tom Gray has requested any citizens who are interested in serving on the Committee to submit their interest, reasons why they wish to serve, and any qualifications they believe are relative to Trustee Fountain (thfountain@comcast.net) and Trustee Schatteman (jscatman@springnet1.com) by December 24, 2016.  The two trustees will submit the names of all interested citizens, along with recommendations to the mayor for final appointment of the three citizens to the Committee and consented to by the Village Board.  It is anticipated the Committee will meet on a monthly basis.
